Jennifer Laufgas Esq.
“I wish I would have done this years ago” is something I hear more than anything else from my clients. Many of my clients have never experienced the threat of a legal judgment, a wage garnishment, or a foreclosure sale of their home before and feel overwhelmed by the unknowns of the legal process. As a Bankruptcy lawyer, I help my clients understand the protections available to them and help them realize the most efficient way to accomplish their financial goals.
From a young age I knew I wanted to help better my community and I wanted to be an lawyer. Most people think those two goals work against each other, but I am blessed to have found a career that allows me to empower honest, hard-working people to stand up for their legal rights and save their assets that they have worked so hard to obtain. Standing up for those who think that they have no voice is a very rewarding feeling.
Prohibit the taking of omens, and do away with superstitious doubts. Then, until death itself comes, no calamity need be feared.
When I was a teenager, I helped to create the Side-Kick Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, which assists the elderly, special needs, and at-risk children with scholarships for martial art programs. In 2006, I graduated from the University of Florida College of Law and am a proud “Double Gator” having also received my undergraduate degree in Marketing, from the University of Florida, College of Business Administration. I love the strategy and skills involved in trial litigation and received the Book Award in Trial Practice for mock trials. In 2008, I started my legal career fighting the Kingdom of Spain over shipwrecked treasure and in 2009, at the height of the foreclosure crisis, I took up the fight for troubled homeowners by defending consumers in foreclosure litigations throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. I was admitted to the Federal District Court (Southern District of Florida) and the Southern District of Florida Bankruptcy Court in 2009. I have handled numerous mediations and modifications over the last seven years, and have represented hundreds of homeowners in foreclosure proceedings and trials, bankruptcy filings, and real estate matters. I am a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
It is a true honor to be a part of Nowack & Olson, PLLC and to continue to help our clients through one of the most difficult times of their lives.
